Clayens at JEC 2024: Composite at the heart of our business.

Clayens has been showcasing its expertise at the European Composite Days for over 20 years now.

We will be there once again for the 2024 edition in Paris-Nord, Villepinte from March 5th to 7th!

A must-attend event for composite experts, it's an opportunity for all exhibitors to introduce their latest innovations. JEC is also a meeting place for professional from the aerospace, defense, and other sectors!

Come and meet us!

Clayens, exhibitor at JEC from March 5th to 7th, 2024

Our technical sales and R&D teams will be on and to present our latest innovations and discuss your future projects!

But why should you find us at this fair? Here are 3 good reasons!

1. Discover ever more innovative technologies for the success of your industrial projects

Thixomolding: the flagship technology of this 2024 edition

Following the recent acquisition of a new production site in the USA, we are pleased to unveil our lastestg technology: Thixomolding. This novelty is a semi-solid magnesium injection technique for molding thin-walled parts. This technology offers several advantages. Can be used to create ever thinner and lighter parts for a wide range of industries.

Thixomolding also offers significant environmental benefits. Magnesium is a 100% recyclable material, and what’s more, it’s abundant. This makes it a particularly attractive option for designing complex equipment with reduced environmental impact.

Numerous other composite transformation processes

Many other composite transformation processes will also be featured, such as molding, machining, destructive or non-destructive testing, among others. These different methods address issues of weight reduction, integration of new functions, and recyclability, which are crucial for parts that must withstand extreme environments.

When you visit our stand, our teams will explain Clayens' role in the composite sector.

We will be exhibiting several of our technologies:

  • High-performance thermoplastic composite parts
  • High-thickness thermoset composite parts
  • The "hybrid" process, which consists of functionalizing a thermoplastic composite
  • The 3D printing process
  • Additive manufacturing including 3D printing
  • And, of course, Thixomolding!

If you are interested in our methods and techniques, do not hesitate to come and meet us, we will be delighted to welcome you.

2. Come and talk with a key player in the design and manufacture of composite parts

A great mastery of material transformation processes

We have been on the market for over 90 years, and the composite and thermoplastic sector holds no secrets for us.

We are committed to supporting major industry players in all their projects by providing expertise, reliability, and responsiveness.

Composites, like thermoplastics, are highly attractive materials for the manufacture of complex parts that can withstand a wide range of stresses.

A composite material is made up of at least two materials of different natures.

A thermoplastic material is a material that can soften when heated. We can therefore give it the shape we wish. Once cooled, the material becomes hard again.

We thus master a wide range of techniques to meet the needs of all kinds of projects:

  • Thermoplastic injection moulding
  • Bi or tri-material injection
  • Thermoplastic and composite machining
  • Thermoplastic and composite stamping
  • Overmolding of metal and composite inserts

Our R&D department in search of new innovations

Thanks to our Research & Development department and our design office, we are constantly on the lookout for new technologies to advance the composite sector. We do everything in our power (material and human resources) to be able to transform and mold all kinds of materials with very diverse characteristics.

The adaptability of our materials

With Clayens, you have a wide choice of materials (plastics, metals...) and transformation processes to make your parts. Indeed, we have complete mastery of the entire transformation chain. From part design to industrialization.

Clayens knows how to adjust the project’s requirements according to your sector of activity, for very specific uses such as food contact, medical materials, impact resistance and many others.

We are able to transform special materials according to your needs such as structural composites, thermoplastic prepregs, organosheet hybrids, carbon fiber composites, or even fiberglass.

We know how to provide the right level of precision to perfect your parts.

Co-developing our parts

At Clayens, we can co-develop our parts with our customers. This "co-design" approach is a real team effort, combining your know-how with that of our experts. Your parts must take into account certain characteristics in order to meet strict standards. Who better than you, our customers, to explicitly tell us all the rules to follow for this design? We therefore work hand in hand to design your future parts. Our design office is at on hand to decipher your specifications and suggest areas for improvement. This close collaboration enables us to create parts and complete technologies that fully meet the our customers’ needs.

We look forward to discussing co-development with you at JEC.

3. Meet our partner CICOR

Our presence at JEC marks the formalization of our partnership with electronic specialist CICOR. By joining forces, we will be able to produce ever more functional composite parts. This partnership adds yet another string to our bo, enabling us to comprehensively meet all your needs (and particularly those of parts incorporating electronics).

The diversity of manufacturing processes is a real asset, enabling us to bring all your projects to fruition with a single technical partner!

The use of composites in different sectors

Composite parts for aerospace and defense...

We have been working with the aerospace and defense sectors for many years to meet their technical part manufacturing needs.

Parts designed for aerospace have very specific functions, and must meet meticulous criteria.

Clayens brings its expertise to bear in order to manufacture complete equipment that perfectly meets the expectations of the aerospace and defense industries.

Parts for aerospace or military vehicles are subject to numerous stresses, such as vibrations and temperature changes. They must be resistant under all circumstances. That's why we work with special materials to produce high-quality, tailor-made components.

We have several composite parts production sites worldwide to be as close as possible to your production sites. We have the right machinery to manufacture parts of of any size to meet all the needs of the industry.

...but not only!

We do not only manufacture composites and thermoplastics for aerospace and defense.

Indeed, these techniques can be adapted to other sectors such as:

  • Automotive
  • Industry
  • Medical
  • Electrical

The JECs are the ideal opportunity to discuss your future projects!

Clayens, certified for plastics and composite processing

Over the years, we have obtained a number of certifications that attest to our expertise and high level of mastery:

Composites: NADCAP (aeronautical non-destructive testing) approved molder for Torlon ® (Solvay)

Thermoplastics: ISO 9001 and ISO TS16949

Aerospace: EN 9100 / NADCAP on dye penetrant inspection (FPI)

(We also hold certifications for major players in the sector for special processes).

Shall we arrange a meeting?

Meet Clayens at JEC 2024 from March 5th to 7th, 2024, to discuss the various techniques and technologies we have developed this year.

We would be happy to discuss with you and perhaps consider collaborative development projects together?
